Tidy Up Time

Once we have settled in Sydney in April, I am planning to tidy up what is currently our apartment’s storage room.  I am ‘dreaming’ to convert a corner of it into a study area where we could set-up our computer, printer and fax machine.  What I see as the constraints though are my iMac’s huge screen and the bulky fax machine.  Thankfully, the printer is not as big as a tm-t88iv model, otherwise, I may have to abort my plan all together.  We might buy a new desk and shelf to house all three.  I hope my plan works out.

Way Ahead

My aunt in the U.S. shared with me over the phone that she had her house renovated.  Last time I was there, she shared with me that she wanted her ‘project’ done before she retires in 2012.  I’m happy that she finished it way before her retirement year.  With that, she invited me and my family to visit them in the U.S.  Of course, I told her, that that is in our plan.  We will get the first opportunity to bring our kids to Disney vacations and all the other touristy and kid-friendly places in the U.S.  Even if it is far-off, I’m excited about it.  I just hope it happens soon!

Shopping Spree

I have been planning to do a bit of shopping before we leave for Sydney.  I need to update my wardrobe because six months after I had given birth, I still haven’t gone back to my pre-pregnancy built.  Although my weight right now is okay as I was underweight prior my second pregnancy.

So, what do i buy?  High-end brands for tops, jeans or shoes?  Of course, not.  Even if I have the money, I don’t see myself spending it for a pair of Christian Louboutin, for example.  After all, I have been and always will be, a simple gal.

Cute as Can Be

My little boy received several jackets as Christmas gifts.  There is one denim, one faux leather and two of what looks like Nascar jackets.  Yep, he will look like a man’s man when he wears them for sure.  And I’ll make a mental note to post photos of him wearing those gifts come winter time.  I just hope he’ll be comfortable wearing them.

Moving Forward

‘ve been entertaining the thought of doing part-time work when my youngest child turns 1.  It is more for my personal growth rather than financial gain, actually.  But what will stop me in pursuing that is if we don’t find a really, really good daycare center and if I don’t find a job that I want.  Sure, healthcare job searches are getting popular these days, but I’ll stick to what I know and that is in the IT consulting industry.

A Busy First Week

I can imagine how busy I will be during our first week back in Sydney.  I have been planning to rearrange our furniture, get some new shelves and throw/give-away some old stuff.  I would like to get new entertainment centers, too because the one we have is too heavy and bulky but I guess that is a minor concern that we can address later on.  So, a trip to Ikea during the first week of our return is in order!

A Good Trade

Last month, I traded my old DSLR with a 1st Gen ipod touch.  I hesitated at first because it is obvious that the latter is more expensive (even if it’s an old model and even if it’s compared with the latest ipods) but now, I realize that it is a good trade after all.  Why you might ask?

After a few weeks of use, my daughter broke the ipod’s on/off button.  Good thing there is an extended warranty and I was able to ask for repair without shelling-out cash.  Then, I received a message from the store that they will instead replace the unit with a new one.  So yeah, I got the replacement unit last week and although it is only a 2nd Gen ipod, it is brand new!  Now, I’m hooked to the games, social networking sites and the notes functionality of my ipod.  I’m happy to have this new gadget.

Seasons Change

I have to stock up on moisturizers, sorbolene lotion and lip balm because in two months’ time, it will be winter in Sydney again!  Last year was the harshest winter we experienced as yet, with the heaters at home working almost ’round the clock.  But what is good is that my skin has adjusted well into the season changes that I no longer need to scout for ’special’ acne solutions.  I just hope it stays that way forever.

Where Did the Time Go?

With less than a month left before our return to Sydney, I’m feeling a bit anxious with the ‘minor’ to-dos on my list.  They are mostly related to my photos, like posting some on my blog and online album, having selected ones printed and sent to family and most importantly, completing all my back-ups.  Just thinking about leaving any of these undone makes me cringe.  Arrgh.  I’d probably need an adult acne home treatment to do deal with this stress.

Homewares & Furniture

Next time we shop for new home furniture, I know better what style and wood finish we’d buy.  It’s a pretty exciting thought to buy new furniture as I’m very eager to replace what we have.  Especially our TV stand and center table, which has seen better days.  But then, it’s hard when you have young kids who sees the living room as a play room.
