It can be tempting to consider getting low insurance coverage from cheap auto insurance companies but we know this is something we shouldn’t scrimp on. We have been with a good company for three years now and like what they say, why fix something that isn’t broken? So we’ll stay with our insurer until a better one comes along.
My (Not So) Favorite Season
This year, we will experience our 3rd Winter season. Not a big deal, really. Except that we will go through the motions of bringing out the room heaters and stacks of Winter clothes as we do for the past 2 years. Our beds will once again be fitted with beddings made of wool because we are afraid to use heated mattress pads for safety reasons. Oh, how I dread the cold season.
The Next Best Thing
What’s the next best thing to a mac? Hmm, probably none. This is my dilemma since my Dell laptop died on me during our vacation in Manila. I was prepared to let go of it, having used it for almost 5 years. But now, that I’m thinking of buying a replacement and I’m considering getting a mini laptop or a mac. I’m not in a hurry though. I can decide maybe til mid-year this year. And that only means, I have more time to save for it.
Looming Clouds
Last year, Australia made headlines around the world with the Black Saturday bush fires in Victoria. This year, it is the Queensland flooding. It was horrifying to monitor the news since the flooding started, hearing of lives that were lost and the properties washed away. Up to now many are still missing and the death toll is still rising. No matter what the nature of death is, whether through these kinds of tragedy or even mesothelioma cancer, the hurt and pain of the family left behind cannot be described.
An Exciting New Year Ahead
We’re expecting to have more people in our household next year, both as temporary and permanent guests. And that means, we need a bigger dining table and more chairs. I wished we bought an extendable dining table before so that we don’t have to upgrade now. But I’m not complaining. More people in our house means more help with the kids. Hee.
Trying Hard
I weighed myself a few weeks ago and was surprised to see that I am once more underweight. Nope, I’m not taking any drugs or even the best diet pills in the market. But I guess the stress contributes so much to my loss of appetite, hence my loss of weight. Funny though that despite the low numbers, I still have this baby pooch I so long want to get rid off. I look funny when I wear low waist jeans. Call me trying hard. Hee hee.
A Wishlist Item
I am dreaming of buying an Epson printer to replace my current Canon unit. I have been seeing a lot of good print outs from Epson and I think many photographers use that brand for their business as well. What’s keeping me from making that dream to a reality is the price. It is steep, period. Of course, I have to factor in the toner I would periodically buy. It needs several cartridges and not just a stand alone laserjet 5550 toner to work. Sigh. All I could think of now are all expenses. Ha!
A Promising 2011
Depending on our living arrangements next year, I might consider working from home. There is this job site link that has a list of interesting opportunities tailored for stay at home moms like me. Of course medical and healthcare jobs are out of the question. The work I’ll be looking at if ever will be more on administration if it’s not possible to take on a SAP-related job.
Sweet Stuff
I am planning to make more desserts this coming weekend. I have been telling friends that baking is not one of my favorite hobbies, but lately, it appears that I’m finding enjoyment in making different cakes. I guess the big payoff is seeing my husband and eldest child enjoy the fruits of my labor. Hee. So for now, we forget about dieting or lipofuze reviews all together.
A Good Buy
I’ve finally decided to reformat my 5 yr old laptop after contemplating to give it away a few months back. Apart from its now slow processor, it still is pretty reliable that I can still do a bit of photo editing on it. And even if I bought the machine with no extended or 3 year laptop warranty, it still served me well. I had no issues with it even until now. That’s what you call a good buy.
