Shoes Blues

I’ve been so exposed to children’s songs and shows of late because of my (almost) 2 yr old, that whenever I come across certain words that are highlights in my daughter’s videos, the song instantly plays in my head.

Let’s take shoes, for example. I was browsing through the shoes selection at Beautifeel’s website and I just can’t get the Hi-5 tune out of my system. I finished the whole women’s category and I was still singing! That’s pretty scary, isn’t it? Yikes!

Online Shopping Galore

I just wrote a post a few days ago about how I managed to cross-out only a few items/names of people on my shopping list. I should have been more realistic in setting timelines for my holiday shopping to-dos. The upcoming house move has eaten much of my time that now I’m cramming to complete everything else I have to accomplish.

Thanks to the Web, I might resort to online shopping instead. At least, I still get to personally pick the gift, have it wrapped and sent to our friends and relatives. I can do all that at the comforts of our home, a big plus!

But, what’s online shopping without all neat contests where you can win great gifts and huge cash prizes? I know you’re tempted to know more! Why don’t you join Shop and Confess at www.ShopAndConfess.com by signing up here.

No Energy Left

I feel like all my strength has been sucked out of me. I’ve been packing, sorting, dusting and cleaning the apartment since Thursday. The big downer that we didn’t see coming was the husband’s very busy work schedule this week. That meant that I pretty much have to do most of the leg work for the move.

Thankfully, we have covered most of the nitty-gritty stuff early last week like requesting for change of address for our bills, bank statements, etc. We also decided to put off getting life insurance quotes for next year and that’s one item off the checklist.

So, only two more days left before the move. As soon as all of these are over, I’ll definitely treat myself to some retail therapy and a good massage!

The Countdown Begins

Barely five days to go and we’re moving out of our first ever apartment in Sydney. I started packing last Thursday and started cleaning out the areas I’ve emptied. This might sound too weird but I’m enjoying the packing bit, ha! I like sorting stuff and organizing them in boxes and labeling them! But the cleaning bit can get really exhausting. Good thing we’ll have the place professionally cleaned to make sure that all the corners, cabinets, floors and faucets are squeaky clean and spotless!

My Bub Loves the Tub

When my daughter turned 18 months, I noticed her disinterest in using her plastic tub. I knew then that it was time for her to use the real thing. The first time she bathe in the bath tub, she loved playing with the shampoo and soap bottles around, tossed her dipper up and down and played with the two delta faucets! It was a riot but she had fun! How time flies.

Ikea Breakfast, Sydney

From time to time, we have Saturday breakfasts at Ikea. For 2AUD, you’ll get a plate of freshly cooked bacon, sausage, hash browns, egg and tomato. Although it’s filling for such a cheap amount, we avoid going there frequently because if you notice in the photo, the food served are all fried.

Hyper-Active

My toddler has been really active since she turned 20 months. She’s at a stage where she’s enjoying the freedom to do things on her own. At times, I find her lifting her plastic stool, standing on top of it and reaching for any thing on the table or cabinet. She climbs the stairs to the apartment’s second floor as if she’s running a marathon, that swift! I’m sure in time she’ll build muscle fast and I hope by then she’ll have more control of her body to keep out of harm’s way.

Hooked on Body Building

My youngest brother who has a tall and thin built became really hooked on body building. He frequents a gym near our house and when it’s the weekend, he goes to my sister’s place to use my brother-in-law’s equipment.

I can’t blame him, since he started university he became more conscious of his physique and it’s all part of growing up! I won’t be surprised if he starts taking Trenadrol for muscle building. Hee.

My Trusty Timepiece

I have been wearing my silver wristwatch for over five years. I was teasing my husband that he replaced his watch three times in those five years while I never did. Well, although I can’t leave the house without it, I’m not interested in fancy or expensive brands and is therefore content with my trusty timepiece.

But if ever I come across a good buy since most stores here are on pre-holiday sale, I will not have second thoughts. I just might buy one as a Christmas present for myself. I heard that Movado watches are offered half the price, I wonder if other brands are on sale, too.

Dynasty Restaurant, Sydney

Our new friends, R and J invited us for a quick drink (and a tour) of their beautiful home in the Killara suburb. Our two-year old enjoyed the couple’s backyard with lots of space to run around.

As soon as we finished our wines, we headed to Dynasty Restaurant along the Pacific Highway. It’s not a fancy place but not a Yum Cha. The food is really good and the price is reasonable. Too bad, we were all very hungry when we reached the restaurant that we forgot to take photos. We are planning for our next visit to Dynasty next month.
