The featured fruit of the month is, ta-da! Avocado! This dark skinned, pear shaped fruit has a lot of nutrional value. According to Wikepedia:
An avocado contains approximately 15% of fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat. Avocados also have 60% more potassium than bananas. They are rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K. They have the highest fiber content of any fruit – including 75% insoluble and 25% soluble fiber.
My husband is not a big fan of this fruit no matter how much I convince him to try it. But as for me, I love this fruit when mixed with milk and a bit of sugar. A very simple yet satisfying dessert for me!
How about you? How do you like your avocado?
